GCMP Protocol

2024–present

The protocol by which the manager discovers and manages devices on a local network is secured by elliptic curve cryptography. I implemented it as a library with clients for both devices and the manager (Python):

• key pinning, nonces, session locking and limits, MTU handling,
• remote configuration of IP parameters and DHCP on devices,
• running on Linux (systemd) and Windows (system service), resilience verified by fuzzing,
• port to MicroPython on ESP32 including building MicroPython with ECC support,
• protocol specification and developer documentation.

In 2026 I added GCMP support to the peripheral board firmware (C language) and deployed the tools in production.
